Whatever
"Rabbi Joshua Hammerman"'s ostensibly vile Jewish World article My Tim Tebow Problem has riled up a number of folks (e.g. 1, 2, 3), but I think it's neat that Jewish World has obviously started an article exchange program with The Onion, and I look forward to the latter's publication of the article they took in trade for this one.
I think you're right, Simon, this has to be a parody--I'm not
sure of the political outlook of Jewish World, but I wonder if this is an attempt at satire of the secular Left, as if the anti-Tebow fervor was a product of the secular Left. I mean, I've seen some irrational hatred of Tim Tebow--there's a lot of it going around, but this takes it to another level, assuming I'm wrong.
ADDED: On second thought, maybe not.
Looks like the editorial has been removed.
But reading the responses to it, it was way way over the top.
Yes, there is a lot of irrational hatred of Tebow. I am a Tebow hater but my hate is totally rational based on what he did to my FSU team for four years. When it comes to his faith, he is the real deal. I just hate him for "football" rational reasons. :)
Yeah, it seems to be removed, and the article was quite
deranged. As for Tebow, he's a good man, and as for Tebow the player--yeah, I think it's a bit overblown, but he's on (or his team) quite a roll. I'm rooting for the Denver Tebows to win Sunday as well, not because I hate the Patriots, but a Pats loss gives the Ravens more breathing room in the AFC playoff race. Home field advantage, here we come!
Can you explain to me how the
Can you explain to me how the Ravens lost to the Jags? I was so angry when that happened. Forced the Jags to keep Del Rio on another few weeks instead of canning him before the bye. As a Jag, that is the most mysterious win of the year.
You weren't the only one, Jim. I remain at a loss how that
happened. We just didn't show up to play that night, I guess. as I type this, the Jags are being slaughtered by the Falcons, 41-7. Losing to Tennesee and Seattle is a bit of a different situation. We should've won, but Tennesee and Seattle are capable teams. Oh, well, like I said, three more games, and the number one seed is ours...
The Ravens have a cake
The Ravens have a cake schedule left,so they should get the #1 seed. Of course, you never know when Flacco will throw up one of his periodic hairballs. He's due for another.
Don't see Denver beating the Patriots, our crappy defense notwithstanding. The biggest commonality in the Broncos Tebow win streak is that they have played a LOT of teams that have trouble scoring: they have 5 wins while scoring under 20 pts. Brady has been held under 30 pts only 3 times this season.
